Dr. Memory

Dr. Memory is a memory monitoring tool capable of identifying memory-related programming errors such as accesses of uninitialized memory, accesses to unaddressable memory (including outside of allocated heap units and heap underflow and overflow), accesses to freed memory, double frees, memory leaks, and (on Windows) access to un-reserved thread local storage slots.

Dr. Memory operates on unmodified application binaries running on Windows or Linux on commodity IA-32 and AMD64 hardware. Dr. Memory currently targets 32-bit applications only.

Contributing to Dr. Memory

We welcome contributions to Dr. Memory. We have a standard contribution agreement that covers all contributions made to the project. It gives VMware and you joint copyright interests in any code you contribute. The agreement also gives VMware flexibility with licensing and also helps avoid any copyright/licensing related issues that may arise in the future.
